My love for photography started at a very young age, borrowing my mom's Brownie camera, far more than she was comfortable with. I got my first camera, a GAF Instamatic when I was 9, burned through 2 roles of film in 20 minutes or so.
A lover of nature and art, I photograph anything that inspires me, and that is quite a bit. I concentrate on the wonders of nature, and the way that slight changes in lighting can create a whole new feel for the same subject; mother nature is quite the artist. You will also see quite a few man made structures in my work as well, after all the architect is a rather grand artist in their own right, and many place their structures in such a manner as to capture light in a spectacular way, or to blend in with nature in a way that takes our breath away.
Photography is all about capturing light, allowing the way it strikes our subject to help us convey a feeling, the feeling that inspired me to pull out the camera in the first place. It's a way to let you come along with me on my great adventures, to see what I was blessed enough to capture. I hope that you enjoy your journey through my galleries located at www.paulmangold.com, and that you will be able to feel as inspired as I was. Enjoy the trip, and let me know your thoughts, I'd love to hear from you.
