My favorite spot on earth is Mt. Desert Island, ME, home to Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. To me this area is a photographers dream come true, rich with a diverse landscape that was sculptured by the last ice age. From the pink granite cliffs to the richly forested interior, that is home to a diverse array of wildlife, plant life, and of course marine life, Mt. Desert Island has something for every lover of nature.

Bar Harbor and to a much lesser degree, Southwest Harbor welcome guests throughout the relatively short tourist season. These traditional Old New England fishing towns offer us a visual glimpse into the past, Bar Harbors shops are primarily visitor focused, offering up a wide variety of keepsakes to make your memories lasting ones. While on the quiet side, known to us as Southwest Harbor, the focus is more around the year round residents, although they have not forgotten about the visitors and their need for something to take home as a reminder of that great vacation. If you have never ventured up north to Mt. Desert Island, add it to your bucket list, I promise, you will not be disappointed.
